First off, I want to say I'm not that big of an Urban Outfitters fan. Oops, I hope I haven't offended anyone... I just find it overpriced for what's it's worth, and a lot of the designs are bland. Not much catches my eye from there. I have to admit though, whenever I check out the sale - there are some pretty good stuff (now reasonably priced, haha).
Although I think they've gone downhill by taking the hipster route (seriously, I remember I got a ton of really cool clothes from there a few years back that wasn't all generic), I can occasionally find some stuff that I like. Of course, not everyone will agree with me on this. Love their stuff? Great, go ahead and express yourself with their clothes. :)
The first thing that grabbed my attention was this:
I have a thing for velvet clothes, and this looks really great. Definitely has a Gothic/Rock feel to it. I'm loving the zip at the back - gotta love zips! The mesh creates a good contrast in material against the velvet and adds a bit of sexiness to it. ;D Teaming it up with shorts would make it very casual and laid back, but still gives some elegance to your outfit. I can see it being really easy to switch up from a day to a night look. You could pair this with so much! I give the thumbs up for this. :)
Next up is this:
Not the cheapest thing on sale. If you're willing to splash out on this, at least you can assure yourself it's on sale and it's a lovely dress. ;) It's a doll-looking dress that is simple but is definitely an eye-catcher. I'm loooooving the patterns on it. The top having a contrasting pattern against the rest of the dress is a great design. It's a dress that dominates the outfit and needs no enhancements.
It's a very sweet and innocent looking dress. Maybe if you're thinking of dressing Lolita, but feeling nervous to go out with your style (I know that's an issue with a lot of people), this is a very toned down version to me. You could maybe add some Lolita elements, like accessories or wigs, that will probably garner a lot of attention, but it won't be so out there. I'll probably get killed for saying all this (uh ohs) and that Lolita is a way of life, okay that's great for you but it's also a fashion style and I know a lot of people have been harassed for dressing like that in places. Yeah, it's an awful world and I'm all for standing for your rights and doing what you want to do but not everyone has the confidence for that or wants to. So for someone who wants to try out the Lolita style, or want to mature into another style, this is great. Also, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the dresses anyway. :P Anyway, I hope I haven't offended anyone. Please let me know if this was a bit too far or anything and I'll correct my error if it's offending.
Ooft, that was a lot longer than intended. Anyway, another piece is:
Such a cute shirt! I love polka dots and shirts! Combined is even better! :D Okay so, you could probably find a cheaper version of this somewhere, but because I'm doing an UO Sale online window shopping session, this will be the one I'm suggesting. The denim will make it suitable for all seasons, and this is coming from someone who lives in a rather cold country with unpredictable weather. :P Although, the print is definitely something more for Spring and perhaps Summer. A great thing about shirts is that they go with soooo many clothes! Skirts, shorts, jeans, bottoms... I'm trying to go for something neutral that isn't trousers or pants because it confused the hell out of me when my flatmates from the states kept saying they were changing their pants and I thought, 'Oh, that's a bit tmi', but they meant their bottoms... yeah, and whenever I said trousers they didn't know what I was talking about. Okay, I'm deviating from the point now. :P Blue is a great colour that matches so many hair colours. Why do I mention this? I dye my hair every few months. I'm currently a redhead so my red clothes are hibernating for now. I mean I think if you have blue hair, if it depends what shade it is, I'm sure this could go too. I guess that's something up to you. ^^ This shirt is just so adorable, it reminds me of the sky and happy times, so if you need a bit of cheering up to your wardrobe, this would be a great addition!
This ended up being a lot longer than expected, but hopefully you can get a chance to check out their sale. Like I said, I'm not the biggest UO fan, but their sale is worth a look. You can probably get some real good bargains from there. Now I sound like a sales assistant... haha. :P Maybe you can see stuff you like and try to find a cheaper version elsewhere? ;) There, now I don't sound like I'm trying to sell! Anywaaaay, happy shopping, my lovelies! :)
